A little about me…
My name is Lydia Cregar, and I have been playing piano since I was four years old. Growing up, I had endless opportunities to play in church, and I also played in many recitals. I could not imagine my life without the piano! However, it was not always that way… There were many times I did not care or want to continue, as most children do, but my parents made me continue. I am so incredibly thankful they did that! I cannot imagine if they had let me have my way. Being able to sit down and play truly whatever comes to mind, is an indescribable joy!
Since I grew up in Southern Arizona, I was in a great place to travel to California for a higher musical education. I had the privilege of taking piano classes in San Deigo, CA with Rosie Mace, a talented teacher from Bulgaria. After studying with her, I switched to online lessons with Jaron Cannon, and Dr. Mike Zachary. Through these incredible teachers I have studied many different types of Classical music, technique, and spent over four years in the world of advanced music theory. I hope to never stop learning more about Classical music, and all it has to offer.
I have had the privilege of tuning pianos since 2023. I was honored to learn about tuning pianos from a talented technician in San Deigo, CA. Since then, I have become a certified technician through the Piano Technician Academy. Tuning and repairing pianos is something I greatly enjoy doing! I hope to never stop learning new things about my favorite instrument.
It is my ultimate desire to honor and please God in all that do. I have had the privilege of teaching piano since I was fifteen years old. I am so thankful for this skill that God has given me, and I desire nothing more but to pass it on to others, so that they can enjoy it as much or more than me.
