A little about me…
My name is Lydia Cregar, and I have been playing piano since I was four years old. Growing up, I had endless opportunities to play in church, and I also played in many recitals. I could not imagine my life without a piano! However, it was not always that way… There were many times I did not care or want to continue, as most children do, but my parents made me continue. I am so incredibly thankful they did that! I cannot imagine if they had let me have my way. Being able to sit down and play truly whatever comes to mind, is an indescribable joy!
As a result of growing up in Southern AZ, I had the privilege of taking piano classes in San Deigo, CA with Rosie Mace. After studying with her, I switched to online lessons with Jaron Cannon, and Dr. Mike Zachary. Through these incredible teachers I have learned to bring church music back to life and enjoy music with all that it has to offer.
Since the spring of 2023, I have been tuning pianos. I have had the privilege of learning from a talented technician in San Deigo, CA. Through his guidance, I am now able to tune and service pianos.
As a Christian, it is my desire to bring skillful, Christ-honoring music into the church. I have had the privilege of studying with some incredible teachers over the years. Through them, I have been able to study advanced music theory, technique, Classical music, and traditional improvisation.
It is my ultimate desire to honor and please God in all that do. I have had the privilege of teaching piano since I was fifteen years old. I am so thankful for this skill that God has given me, and I desire nothing more but to pass it on to others, so that they can enjoy it as much or more than me.
